Severe Weather Hearing Impaired Pagers


The Chicago Ridge Emergency Management Agency is announcing a pilot program for warning the hearing impaired in times of severe weather by the use of vibrating pagers.  The S.W.A.P. (Severe Weather Alert Pagers) program continues to be on a trial basis and can be ended at anytime. 

 

Some of the criteria to be met includes:

  1. Residency within the Village of Chicago Ridge.  This requirement must be verified with a utility bill showing residency and a picture identification.

  2. The participant must be 18 years of age or older.

  3. The participant must have hearing loss of 65 decibels or greater, certified by a doctor.
